Seminars to use video during erupting vulcano

29 Apr 2010

Many international seminars and conferences ran into problems due to the flight interruptions following the vulcano eruption in Iceland. Key note speakers could not fly and attend the conferences. Thanks to Qconferencing the key note speakers could join by video.

Some examples of last week:

On a large medical conference of the Skion (Stichting kinder-oncologie Nederland) Qconferencing arranged a life-link between the director of the St Jude Medical in Memphis and the venue of the conference, the KIT in Amsterdam. The director could deliver his presentation and have an interactive Q&A session with the audience in Amsterdam.

In Sidney a very large congres on architecture took place. The Dutch Institute of Architecture delivered a presentation including the use of a powerpoint presentation and took part in the panel discussion. All by video.

A dutch professor of the VUMC participated at a conference of dermatology in Barcelona, delivering a speech including presentation of specific PC based visuals followed by a Q&A session with the conference participants.

All these cases were to be organised last minute as nobody had foreseen the embargo on all flights in Northern Europe. Thanks to the experience in this field Qconferencing could install high quality equipment and get it to work in time before the conferences. The users were all impressed by the high quality of the video connection and the ease with which interactive sessions could be done.

Qconferencing is specialised in delivery, installation and support of high quality videocommunication equipment. We can help conference organisers to set-up video connections, not only in the Netherlands but anywhere in the world.
